Ledebouria Petiolata Variegata
Ledebouria Petiolata Variegata
4”
Ledebouria Petiolata (formerly Drimiopsis Maculata) originates in East and South East Africa. Its deep green foliage is marked with brown to black spots, which appear more vivid when exposed to bright light. During the winter, this semi-succulent may go into a dormant state and shed its leaves. It can handle light frost, yet extended freezing temperatures are not well tolerated. Ledebouria Petiolata is an attractive bulbous plant belonging to the Ledebouria genus. It is distinguished by its spotted leaves and compact habit, making it an excellent choice for houseplant collectors. Ledebouria petiolata's leaves are often elongated with spotted or striped patterns, and the plant produces small bulbs at the base.
Light
Prefers bright indirect light. Too much direct light can damage the leaves, while insufficient light can reduce the vividness of the foliage patterns.
Soil
It adapts to a wide array of garden soils comprising cactus and succulent soil and regular (peat, perlite, pine bark) potting mix. But an organic rich media (2:1 to 1:1 organic:inorganic) seems to work very well. Rich humus organic soil will make this plant multiply like rabbits. This plant needs well-drained soil; it does not like wet feet.
Water
Allow soil to dry between waterings to prevent bulb and root rot.
Temperature & Humidity
Thrives in moderate to warm temperatures. Protect from extremely cold temperatures and draughts.
Fertilizer
Feed monthly with 50% strength soluble house plant food when it is actively growing.
USDA HARDINESS ZONE: 8-10.
IMPORTANT: TOXIC.
